Based on the British series Miranda, CALL ME KAT stars Emmy Award nominee Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory) as a woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that she can live a happy and fulfilling life despite still being single at 39. Which is why she recently spent her entire savings to open a cat café in Louisville, KY. Kat’s mother Sheila views her daughter’s singlehood as her own personal failure, but Kat remains determined to chart her own course. Working alongside Kat are Randi, a confident millennial and “non” cat person, and Phil, who recently broke up with his longtime partner. Although Kat celebrates her independence, her single-forever plans may begin to veer off-course, when her former crush and good friend, Max returns to town and takes a job as a bartender at the piano bar across the street, working with his friend, Carter.

  • Watch Miranda instead

I loved the comedian Miranda in her namesake show. I cannot say many positive things about “Call me Kat”. First, my wife and I only made it most of the way through the first episode before turning the show off. I then showed her the original show Miranda. She enjoyed that show more. I saw all the jokes from “Call me Kat” that looked like someone spliced them into a storyline where they felt really out of place. The original Miranda had the same jokes almost line for line but they fit much better and they flowed into the story. I had bigger hopes for the show since it had many top names involved but what a disappointing result.
  • Just, no.

She's annoying like my mother. She's nasally annoying. I would watch it if they duct taped her mouth and replaced her with a real actress. Utter garbage. Leave breaking the 4th wall to Deadpool. Deadpool she is not. Stop rebooting British Television shows because you have no ideas of your own, America, you just aren't good at it.

I’m a fan of Mayim, and I also love Miranda Hart star of the British show this series is based on. Based on the negative reviews lots of people have never seen that show! Also too folks have to remember we’re living through a pandemic so there’s no live audience so that makes a difference as well. Give it a chance!

Fun, quirky show. Love a main character who is happy with her life & herself. Feel good. A little less clumsiness would be good - too often is a distraction.
  • It’s very funny!

Call Me Kat is very enjoyable. I think as it continues, it gets better and finds its voice.
  • Not worth it

Couldn’t pass ten minutes. I was hoping it would get better but got more annoying. Not thank you!
