Disgraced L.A.P.D. detective, Russell Poole (Depp), is a beaten man, unable to solve his biggest case - the murders of music icons Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. After two decades, the case remains open. "Jack" Jackson (Whitaker), a reporter desperate to save his reputations and career, is determined to find out why. He tracks down Poole, and the two enter into an uneasy partnership to finally put this case to rest. As Poole relives the unbelievable story of power, corruption and crime, Jackson begins to unravel a growing web of scandal and deception. Relentless in their hunt for the truth, these two broken men threaten to crack the foundation of the L.A.P.D all the while fighting for their own.

  • Excellent film done with permission of the Wallace family

Great film with many theories on the murders of Tupac and biggie. All star cast who bring with them their best performance on a film dedicated to the detective who was fighting for the truth. Highly recommended for police buffs and rap fans of the 90s.

A great true story. If you’re a fan of hiphop, specifically BIG, you NEED to see this. Very entertaining.

A must see. Similar to “Kill the messenger” there are movies and books that are a must see for anyone who wants to think using their own brains.

First scenes, I thought I might have to chuck this flick. Glad I stayed with it. Some of the best acting I've seen in a long time by American actors. This story needed to be told.

    A very detail movie…great actors …great script…
  • Good topic, tedious pacing

This film appears to be one of many that started with a great idea then fizzled in the writing and direction. We expect some embellishment in biopics and similar genres but this will make some who were actually there scratch their heads at some depictions. Simply meh. Heart was in the right place, Biggie deserves better.
