Evil is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a carpenter as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings. Their job is to assess if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.

It doesn’t take a lot to scare me anymore, but this show is just creepy enough. I love it!
  • Yes we know the world is Evil

My friend told me to watch this show so when I saw it for $10 I bought it. I like David (normal guy trying to turn his life around) and Ben (fact finder) the most of all of the cast. I do like that the religion is not an up in your face, but the show does acknowledge it. Kristen starts to get annoying halfway through the season and her children pounce on people like a pack of puppies. No one allows their children to act like that in real life. Anyway, some of hiccups in this show jump out at you like Pennywise. I don't know who their medical advisor is for the show but please know that there are no alarms in the morgue BEACUSE THE PATIENTS ARE ALREADY DEAD!!

This show has some excellent creepy concepts and moments. But the story lines are rushed. The stories rarely have endings! They just stop and you never get satisfied from the time and investment you put in watching it. So, the storylines are bad. The characters often seem clueless not connected with each other. It’s odd that it’s so bad coming from the Kings who gave us The Good Wife. Had potential. But fails.

I'm 100% enjoying this show! SO happy it was renewed for a 2nd season! Also for the $9.99 price tag for the sale on the weekend of January 11th, 2020 you can't go wrong. Totally worth every cent!

Love this show. I find the subject matter fascinating, the plotting effective and suspenseful, and the acting pretty much flawless . The chracters being developed are in most cases dynamic and have a depth to them that keeps them growing. Well written.....and that's about it. Pretty much says it all. Good Show! Why anyone would watch unreal reality shows over this, or follow the meaningless, baseless, housewives of wherever instead of shows like Evil, The Rookie, Stumptown, Blue Bloods, Seal Team, FBI, etc. is beyond my meager understanding and makes me fearful of what lies ahead.

over all pretty disappointing. i love the paranormal horror genre so i was pretty excited about this show. after making it through a few episodes i find it to be rather flat-footed and uninspired. i think one of the ways good horror content builds tension is by what it doesn't show you. the dream demon that starts making regular appearances right from the first episode takes all the wind out of that. i find the whole thing to be a bit dull and not scary at all. but i guess i should have expected as much from cbs. as an aside, i will say that some reviewers here seem to be all worked up over the show taking on some themes of institutional racism and those people need to check their fragile white privilege. it's one of the few things i applaud this series for. unfortunately it's not enough to make me want to keep watching.

Love the storyline. Great pilot episode. Still don’t see the chemistry between the main characters.

It was an interesting premise and the acting isn't bad. During the first episode there was a curious trend that all white men are bad, literally murderers and fathers who abandon their wives and children. All women and minorities are flawless and self sacrificing saints. I was willing to give the show the benefit of the doubt that this was just a coincidence. The second episode literally becomes a social justice crusade where the hapless white male lawyer is saved by the strong independant woman, and a hospital is racist and hates black people. If that's your thing, you'll love this show.
