  • Disjointed, heartless, ignores science

Sunshine is one of the worst sci-fi movies I've seen. First off, it's utterly unscientific. The premise, that the sun is "going out" in the near future and the earth is getting cold, is already absurd given climate science already - but I knew that going in, thinking it could make for an interesting twist or something as they explain it. But no, the movie never even hints at an explanation. Gravity, or the lack thereof, is also ignored. In a sci-fi space movie. Yep. Similarly, the characters are just cardboard cutouts, relying mainly on stereotype in place of actual character development. So when things go wrong, it's hard to care about any of them. This would be forgivable if we at least had some interesting on the speculative science end of things. But no, instead it bizarrely turns into a conventional horror movie. On top of all this, the ending is utterly predictable.
  • Fake Science and Disappointing Ending

It started off fantastic with great promis and about 2/3 through the movie turned into some wierd horror film... Why!? The horror aspect did nothing to move the story or plot and only made the film a predictable mess. Also, as a scientist I have to point out that when the sun begins to die it gets larger and hotter, not colder... that part really bugged me as well. There are better sci-fi films, watch those instead.
  • Stupid, Nonsense Movie

    By -=RaBID=-
This is a mindless tale that only gets move mind numbingly vacuous as it progresses. I feel violated not just because it was $16.00 but because I actually watched it to it’s nonsensical and empty headed end. Don’t waste your money.
  • Really good

Awesome acting. Good effects. Story was good. Just a solid sci-fi film.
  • Highly Underrated

This is one of those films that doesn't get the recognition it deserves. A brilliant story with an equally brilliant cast. One of the things I love about this film is that it shows the human condition in all it's aspects.
  • Greatest Film Ever Made

Whoever you are, wherever you are, you should rush to watch this as soon as humanly possible, if you haven't already. And if you already have, do it again.
  • Love it.

It’s hard to describe how good this movie is and what what it means to me. The score is so good that it acts like a character of its own. Great acting, superb plot and just all around great. Well worth your time and money.
  • Great film W/one problem

    By Omnithomas
Excellent pacing and special effects. The characters are believable and organically evolve and clash throughout the story. However there is something that happens in the 3rd act that just brings the whole movie down. Sad because the “twist” was unnecessary and kind of a Deus Ex Machina.
  • Good and bad

The premise is unbelievably stupid, but if you ignore what they are trying to do the movie is actually pretty good
  • Awesome Sci-fi

Great to watch, dont read into it just let it unfold & take it all in.
