Description

Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen) is a gifted and free-spirited journalist with an affinity for trouble. Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron) is one of the most influential women in the world. Smart, sophisticated, and accomplished, she's a powerhouse diplomat with a talent for…well, mostly everything. The two have nothing in common, except that she was his babysitter and childhood crush. When Fred unexpectedly reconnects with Charlotte, he charms her with his self-deprecating humor and his memories of her youthful idealism. As she prepares to make a run for the Presidency, Charlotte impulsively hires Fred as her speechwriter, much to the dismay of her trusted advisors. A fish out of water on Charlotte's elite team, Fred is unprepared for her glamorous lifestyle in the limelight. However, sparks fly as their unmistakable chemistry leads to a round-the-world romance and a series of unexpected and dangerous incidents.

Of course it's not for kids. You wouldn't think that you would have to say that to people, considering it's rated R and is about a fictional Secretary of State, but for those who find the opening scene insulting because they are Nazis themselves, it seems to be the go-to complaint. This is not the greatest movie ever made, but it's a really fun story about a kid with a crush on his babysitter. That's such a relatable concept. And the main characters change each other, rather than one making wholesale chages to get the other. It's a little My Fair Lady (or My Fair Rogen), and yes, a little Beauty and the Beast. Plus: people falling down; explosions; cursing; club drugs; hostages; and Canadians! It's definitely not fun for the *whole* family, but it is a lot of fun for grown-ups who can take a joke. Enjoy.

Long Shot is the perfect romantic comedy with Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron there chimestry is amazing. The third act is kinda weak but in contrast this romantic comedy/potlical drama is just crazy stupid love.

This was an enjoyable movie without having to worry about a serious plot line. To be honest, it’s a movie, entertainment, it should be fun. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but who cares.

I adored this movie. It's super clear what they're doing with imagery: making it clear that the first female president will need to be as real of a human being as all of her predicesors. I loved the humor, the tenderness and the careful new vision of romance in the face of power that this showed. It's hilarious but it's also a quietly important film. Five stars.

I was very doubtful that Seth Rogen & Charlize Theron together would carry a film. However, I was wrong. It was funny yet interesting. In addition, O'Shea Jackson Jr. was great even though he was only in the film for a couple of scenes. I recommend it.
  • A bit far fetched, but cute

We were interested in seeing the chemistry between both actors and surprisingly, it worked in the film. It’s an easy, light-hearted movie that we recommend.

When watching this movie, I realized doing laundry and cleaning the floors were better options. Theron was the only reason for looking at the screen.
